About the Presenter:
James Young is a full-time social sciences professor at Monroe College in the Bronx, NY, co-founder of Queery, an art-based primary violence prevention organization that makes queer theory accessible and fun, contributing writer to Queer Forty Magazine and Bear World Magazine, and meditation facilitator since the start of the pandemic. James’ work in LGBTQ+ and POC communities has led to him being a recipient of the 2019 Pace University LGBTQA Center Alumni Award, the 2010 Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation Joseph B. Whitehead Educator of Distinction Award, and the 2007 GLSEN Hudson Valley Leadership Award
